Our Role

First and foremost is to understand the role of the Imagery Analyst (IA). Imagery Analyst's are trained to assess both analogue (or wet film) and digital material for 'authenticity' i.e. whether the evidence has been changed or manipulated from it origin.

Moving video is comprised of 'frames' when all played continuously it creates a video or movie. This is where the detail lies; evidence is often mis-interpreted as the individual reviewing has limited understanding of the technical aspects of the material; that's when the IA steps in - frame by frame analysis and a clear understanding of the pitfalls of mis-interpreting material.

Training

The world of digital forensics is constantly evolving and therefore so are we. With the introduction of more Facial Recognition technology being deployed; the use of personal body worn cameras; dash cam and mobile phone technologies the type of evidence now being accepted in court is expanding.

We are members of the BCS and IET as well as a number of other organisation that allow us to keep up to speed with changes and adapt our training and methodology accordingly.

Our Experience

We have been practicing in the civilian sector since 2008; prior to this our primary Analyst served in the British Army deploying to all corners of the earth working in both analogue and digital communications systems moving into more specialised intelligence and clandestine roles after 9/11. We are primarily instructed by Legal professionals and regularly present our findings in both criminal and civil matters.

Our greatest tool is our eyes but without the experience they can deceive us.

Spectre Solutions is a Veteran owned business.

Our Clients

We take our role very seriously and provide our clients with the best evidence and analysis that we can give. It is always a pleasure to serve those clients who come back to us as it confirms that providing a impartial view is appreciated.

The Forensic community is a relatively small world so we have no problem in recommending our peers if we can not assist. We prefer to talk your case through as there may be other areas that you should be or can exploring in the evidence you have.

We love what we do

As with most 'Experts' we use the term loosely; we are constant learning everyday as technology and experience dictates but there is nothing better than finding that bit of evidence that has the power to turn a case around - that's why we love what we do.
